3M™ Mini Stack Connector Wiremount Socket 3S5 Series features a simple termination method that replaces crimp-style connections, helping save up to 60% wiring time for sensor wire and similar connections when using the using the 3M™ Mini Stack Connector Hand Tool. A double Insulation Displacement Connection (IDC) termination process makes stable metal-to-metal contact in two places on each wire, and allows for termination of 2 to 4 wires simultaneously without stripping. Thin, compact connectors can be stacked into blocks of up to four, and plug securely into 3M™ Mini Stack Connector Boardmount Header 3S6 Series. 3M Mini Stack header 3S5 series is compatible with wire gauges from 30AWG to 22AWG.
This connector is a miniature IDC connector for sensor wire connections and features:
1) Compact design: The compact form factor allows for 30% more board space in comparison with the 3M™ Mini-Clamp Connectors.
2) Time-saving termination: Wiring time is reduced by approximately 60% compared to crimping connectors.
3) Simple termination: The simple termination helps to reduce errors and provide consistent, reliable connections. With contacts integrated into the housing, handling is simplified with only a single part to manage. There is no need to strip wires and create waste. All of the wires are terminated simultaneously.
Easy mating and unmating: The wiremount connector is easily mated and unmated with the boardmount header by stacking four wiremount connectors together to form a block-style connector that is easier to handle compared to individual connectors.
